What a huge difference....

.... one month makes to a little child!!

We have been doing our regular things... Going to our regular places... But he seemed to have "grown" a little and is more in tune with the world... Ha..  For one, he remembers rather well and can anticipate things or even relate things he's seen on books to the real things! Especially apparent at the zoo... Hahaha... He knows what animals or things come next and will "decide" which animal or way to see/go. He will also tell the zoo staff at the entrance "no, thank u" when they want to give him a stamp on the hand and at times, without prompting too!! Hehee...

* stroking the snake...

* very confidently feeding the goats now.

* totally smitten by these crocodile eggs! Will mention these when we talk about crocodile or eggs! Hahaha

And he does rattle a LOT more now - sometimes gibberish and sometimes sensible... But we are always pleasantly surprised and behave like our son had just won the Nobel prize!! Hahahaha..... His latest antic : when we call him "small face", he replies, "big face" with a silly grin!!! We were dumbfolded the first time he said that!! Ahhahah

Packaged with this growing up phase,  the whines and grumpiness are indeed much louder when things don't go his way.... Haha... Oh well, I guess it's just a 'beginner's' way of dealing with rules and limits... And also learn that life is not a bed of roses... Hahahaha May the force be with me when I deal with this too! Hahaha

* one of his tantrums....

* an outing with the boys... Random picture.. Hahaha.... @ the changi board walk.

We did an overhaul of toys for him during this blog hiatus... Noticed that he didn't really touch most of his toys when he was sick at home for a week. Well, it was about time too.... Even I was a little 'sick' of the toys haha... Had a crazy week of toy-buying hahaha.. Quite coincidental too cos there was a mega toy sale and mama tested the free amazon global delivery.. Hehee... Topped it off with a takashimaya sale!! Hahahaha....  Ok, enough toys for the next half a year!!! Haha will slowly introduce each toy of course....

* couldn't resist this at the taka sale!

* first day haul at sale! Haha

That's all folk, on this come-back entry....

Think I reached maximum...

.... storage space for this blog??!!! Not able to post with photos.... Hmmmm..... Till I figure what's happening!!!!!!

Playground day!!

We did a mid-morning walk at the park around our estate today. We were stuck at the sidewalk for a while.... Cos our dear babe found some unidentifiable seeds and was really intrigued by them!!

He picked them all!! Pulling some out from the sides of the drain cover!! Put them together... And was just "studying" them, with his hands behind his back, like an ah pek!!!! Hahahhaha.....

Then boy decided to put some seeds in the little hole at the handle of his bike!! Hmm.... (Good thing we stuffed the hole with some sponge, so he wasn't able to put in many... Haha)

We finally left the sidewalk when babe saw the uncle sweeping the grounds... he kept saying "uncle uncle" and walked over... To give him a seed!!! Hahahaha.... Quite funny!! The uncle was quite amused too and accepted his seed with a smile... Hahahah....

He then trotted to the playground quite contentedly!! Charged up the stairs to the top of the slide as soon as we was there!! His latest "skill" - swing from the handle bar above the slide!!! Hahahha.....  (Much to his grandpa and Papa's dismay hahaha) He's rather firm in his grip... :) but yes papa, of course I will still keep a watchful eye.... Tsk!

Went home when it got a little too hot. And we had some tv and play time before lunch...

He is getting more curious about how things actually works and will "experiment" for long periods of time... turning the knobs or lifting things up to see the process. (Yay! pockets of free time for mama to do online shopping! hahaha) He was "working" on the garbage truck today. And it was really cool to just watch him in his serious mode....

After nap, we took a long walk to the faraway playground. He really likes this playground! Was smiling as it emerged when we walked up the slope!! Bounced on his favorite car while mama did the bouncy horse across him.... Then it was time for the numerous climbs up the frame with the scaredy cat mama following closely behind... Just look how far the slopey plastic 'plank' is off from the ground!!! (Above lukey in the picture) And this boy will just climb up, step down many many times!!! Couldn't stand stepping down so I insisted he go down the slide instead!!! Hahahhaa..... Which he did after much persuasion! But we did this cycle at least 6 times today!!!!

What a playground day!!! Hahahhaa.... We stopped by our (estate's) playground on our way back!!! Cos all our little friends were there!! :)

A great new place to go!!

Bishan park!!! Haven't been to this part of the park before!! It was great fun!!! And the best part was... it's really convenient to get there by bus! And there's a McDonald's within the park which was great for an iced cold drink after our hot, sweaty walk.. (enroute to the bus stop back)!! :)

Mama spotted some forget-me-not leaves at the 'entrance' and asked babe to join me to tap the leaves close.... He did after watching me do it.... But used his legs!!! O_o It was only after much coaxing before he went down and used his hands to tap them!!! A little too careful perhaps?!! Hahahaha.....

As we walked on, they were some old-school swings in pretty colours scattered here and there... And we hopped on to the first one we came across (or rather I hopped on haha)..... And of course, Mr watch-what's-happening-first-before-joining-in babe was quite hesitant going up the swing initially... He came on eventually but refused to sit.... So there he was, standing on the wobbly centre panels, swerving from side to side cos mama's weight was moving it and almost immediately wanted to jump off!!!! "Go down go down", he screamed!! Hahahha... Silly babe..

We moved on to the play area next. The equipment were quirky new takes on old-school play things (sort of like abstract versions hahaha)... With some new innovative play things..... Blended very nicely with the environment and on sand!! :)

I am pleasantly surprised when he climbed up this merry-go-round play equipment and was enjoying it when I spun him round and round and round and round!!! Hahaha.... He was hanging from the frame and balancing himself at the centre before moving on to the next frame - all these while it was in motion!! hooray for my little scaredy cat!! Hahahha

One of my favorite - a fun, working and easy to use excavator!!!! Still a little heavy for babe to operate on his own but I'm sure he will be able to do so in due time... And he already loves it!!!!! Spent the longest time here!!!

Just before we left the playground, we had a little fun playing peekaboo around these little holes on the wall... Haha

Babe chose to walk over the bridge when I asked him "which way should we go?" (a line taken from one of his books hehee)... We spotted a tortoise in the little stream below and there were lots of fish too!!!! He made a u-turn and wanted to head down to see the tortoise!!! "No babe!!! Can't go there!!!" - a flustered mama had to run after him to hold him back!!

It was a good choice to walk across the bridge to the blocks of flats, to make our way to McDonald's - in the shade!!!! It was getting really hot as it was almost 11am!!

Ahhhhh.... Enjoying an iced milo and a little snack before we walked to the bus stop to head home!

An enjoyable morning!! :)

The start of mid-Autumn festivities!!

We had a family party last night to celebrate the festival... However, babe had the "what's-the-fuss-all-about" face when all his cousins were eagerly waiting for their lanterns/lightsticks/sparklers... Hmm... He didn't want to carry the lantern... Nor hold a lightstick... Overwhelmed? Scared? Nonchalant?? Geez...... We went up to have mooncakes, cakes and grass jelly instead!! Hahaha....

And we seemed to have a delayed reaction to his sugar high today!!!! Grrr.... Bouncing up and down, from the supermarket to the playground to having lunch, refused to be carried and spitting up almost every mouthful of porridge!!! Whining and throwing a tantrum when things don't go his way!!! Haiz.... Hope his afternoon nap will help reset his mood! Bahhh!!
