Punggol waterway. Scorchingly hot sun. Breezy. Blue sky!!

Kai ma was on half day leave - yay!! And we went to Punggol waterway right after babe's nap!! What a beautiful day!!!!

There was an ongoing army marathon so the park was lined with bright orange cones and water stations.. Haha... And of course, the army boys jogging.... Our dear little babe was fascinated with the orange cones and was running to and fro from one cone to the other!! Had to carry him away!! Hahahah...

Plonked him on the sand under the nice breezy shade and there he was, playing with his sand toys for a while....

Mama found a millipede and showed it to babe before putting it back onto the grass patch. But somehow, it found it's way back after a while... And babe caught it with his fingers and showed it to Kai ma... It freaked her out and she jumped!! Haha.... Mama was actually more afraid that babe would squeeze it flat!! Hahaha... Took it from him and threw it further away!!

We skipped the water play area - mama too lazy for all the change of clothes etc... Hahahaha.... And went on the bridge. He was running up and down the bridge!!!! Wheeeeeeeee........

* see our shadow?? :)

We headed home after an hour or so for dinner..... We'll be back, punggol waterway!!!

Ps. Little boy was trying very hard to sit on the ball after dinner and was really happy when he "dee deed" (did it)!!! Hahahha.... He was laughing away!!!

Finally!!! One day before deadline!!

Paid for these DIY photobooks in June but didn't start work till last week cos the deadline is today!! Haha...... (It helps that papa does this for a living!! Hahahaa makes it soooo much easier)

We still have one more book to go! A silly mistake we made on book size and we couldn't bear to abandon it so we will take our time to refine it before printing! That one is more of a chronicle of this little boy's life from a really tiny baby!!! :)

I really like the look of these books and can't wait for them to be delivered!! Guess the process wasn't too difficult for a layman like me too..... Of cos the expert has some grouses here and there.. hahahah... But it does take time!!! From photo selection (maybe from more than 10,000 photos), to loading them and putting the photos together... Oh and captions too!!! (We left most blank as we really couldn't think of better words to describe those moments in the photos). The books are estimated to arrive in 7-14 days.. Hope they live up to expection!!

Meanwhile, happy to share...........

(Pssst, need adobe flash to play)

Overheard this morning....

Papa reading an abc picture book to babe...

Papa : "'Y' is for... Yark (?) yuk (?)... "
Babe (after a few seconds) : "yak".

Crisp pronunciation. Tsk tsk....

Papa taken aback.
Mama laughing out loud in the toilet.
Babe nonchalant. Next book.

Children's garden on a midweek morning!

Farmer Luke got really excited when he saw little brinjals/eggplants/aubergines hanging on the plant!! Bypassed the sand play area and playground and hurriedly scurried to the plants!! Yellow brinjals??! Strange but cute! We were hovering around a these fruit and Vege plants for quite a while...... Touching this and that.... Walked away... And walked back again...

Then little boy wanted to be in the thick of things.... And wriggled his way among these big school children out on an excursion!!! He was watching their teacher explaining things to them but I'm not sure if he got anything.. Haha... Anyways, he suddenly spotted a small butterfly nestled on a leaf and excitedly shouted repeatedly "butt tter fy"!!!!! This boy next to him understood what he said and told his friends about the butterfly.. And soon a big group of them were looking at the small butterfly on the leaf!! Hahahahaha (the butterfly was resting on the leaf for the longest time even with the commotion!)

Not sure what was he up to.... Haha... He walked to the other side of the shrubs and just stood there... made funny faces and said funny things which I don't understand.. Hahahaha....
We had an early nap and he was up at 2ish.... Very much earlier than the usual... So we pulled out his small pool and filled it with water for play in this hot weather!! He jumped in, fiddled with the water toys, splashed around and wanted out just after 10minutes.... Hmmm..... Then before i could dry him, he hopped onto his bike and vroooom vroooom, off he went in the buff!!!! Refused to come down and was laughing as he rode around the porch!!! So mama gave him a cape... Hahahaha... And my supernakedhero was out to save the day!!! Hahahahaha

Someone has been dreaming good things..

... and laughing or talking in his sleep!! Haha... Really wonder what do they dream of?? Do they dream like a storybook or a picture book? A car... ice cream cone... dog... Hahaha... Things that have happened or new stories? Hmmm.... Guess I will never know....

We went for a walk at the park this morning... (No prize for guessing where again hahaha) It was a nice breezy day with overcast sky or was that haze?? Haha... Good for walks though....  Little boy got really excited when he saw the fountain just now... wriggled free from mama and charged towards it from far far away!!! Then he stared at it and walked around it and stared at it some more... Hahahaha..... I think he likes looking at water features like fountains, little waterfalls and stuff... Usually would want to go really near it and stares at it! Calming I guess....

We left after an hour or so and headed home for lunch. Before we left, I was a little surprised and rather amused when babe 'asked' for "Mai low" (milo) when we walked pass the cafe which I sometimes get my iced teh or kopi fix!! Hmmmm... Are we starting an iced-milo-after-an-outing trend here??! Hahahaha..... And he was quite cooperative when I was driving and he wanted to drink "more Mai low"... I told him I was driving and he had to wait till the car stops.... and he actually waited till the car stopped at each junction and reminded me to pass him the milo!!! Hahahaha....

* babe playing with his cars and garage while waiting for lunch... This garage is one of our best utilized toy!!! :)

I am really glad that we actually spruced up our room with a little corner for babe!! (But only halfway there.... Buck up, parents!!!! Stop procrastinating!!!) He now chooses a more varied selection of books (cos they are within easy reach and there is no need to rummage through the box) for us to read to him or flip through the books himself!! And it's the first place he goes to when he wakes in the morning or after nap.... :)

Riding at bishan park

We dropped papa off at the mrt station this morning and headed to the market for a walk. :) Love the old school stalls selling colourful fish and terrapins... And wow!! The guppies and 'light' fish are so expensive now!!! It's almost the same price as the terrapins!!

We headed home for breakfast before going to bishan park for a walk. i thought we could go to the playground there... And also brought babe's favorite bike along.... :)

Babe hopped on the bike as soon as we were at the 'park entrance'!! And after a few pushes, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...... It's a slope downhill from there!!!!!! A gradual one but enough to make babe glow with happiness!!!!! Hahaha... Very naturally, he lifted his leg and let it roll.... Grinning from ear to ear!! Hahahah.... Mama was a little concerned when he went too fast!! But resisted holding on to him... He stopped just before the grass patch and we continued our exploration.

* this was after the slope.... Couldn't capture the slope as the worried mama was running very closely to the rider, ready to scoop him up anytime!! Haha...

Hey, there's actually an outdoor water park here!! But I vaguely saw that they only turn the tap on during the weekends. Hmmm... Cute bumps for climbing and ropes(or are they water hoses) line the area... Also some gadgets which I couldn't quite figure what they were.... But Sure looks fun!!

Babe decided to go off road.... And we parked the bike at the of this granite-line track before running down and up the ditch (or do u call it a drain or stream?? Hahahaha) many times!!!! It was really quite a 'slopey' morning... Haha....

We also tried drinking from a water dispenser/fountain... to hilarious results!! Haha... It was quite a struggle to juggle babe, press for water and lower him in a strange angle for him to drink!! Hahaha... Much to our amusement though.. He was trying very hard... stuck his tongue out to reach for the weak-pressured spray of water many times!!! We gave up after a while!! Haha...

Boy, the playground is really faaaarrrrr from the car park!!! Nowhere in sight from where we were.... So mama gave up the idea and we hung around within 150m radius of our car... Haha... Climbing up and down the waterless water park! Hahahah...

We dropped by the big AMK playground on our way back but didn't stay for long as it was getting really hot!! Plus the equipment were wet.... Dabbled with sand a little bit and hopped onto the jeep for awhile... Then we went to "mmmmm" (McDonald's haha) to wash our hands and get a drink... Left a trail of sand on their floor... Oops.... Didn't realized he still had so much sand in his sandals!! Haha no wonder he asked to be carried!! Apologized to a friendly staff before going back to our car to head home.

* we shared an iced milo - really shiok after a sweaty morning!!

** everytime we share a drink, babe will always say "no more" with hand actions too when it's my turn to drink!!!!! As if I am finishing everything!! Hahaha 'babe, sharing means we take turns drinking it!!'

Tickled pink this morning!!

This boy is TOTALLY smitten with this minion's control car!! Hahahaha really love watching him laugh sooooo heartily!!!

The strange thing is.... Though mama and papa have been humming the tune "ba ba ba ba... Banana and potato!!" Hahahaha (dunno the exact words as I'm not quite sure of the words and tune myself!!), he is not familiar with the characters as he has only watched the song video once or twice when Kai Kai kor kor showed him a week ago. BUT when he saw the toy, he immediately went "ba ba ba".... Hahahahaha...

Babe and I were both delighted when the ba ba ba song actually came on when he pressed the button!! Hahahaha... Then the gibberish language that followed really pushed him to the edge and he was LAUGHING and laughing so so heartily!!! Hahaha.... So there we were, at the toy, pressing the button and laughing, pressing the button and laughing some more..... for a good 5 - 10 minutes!!! And needless to say, his very amused parents were taking pictures and videos like some crazy paparazzi!! Hahahah...
