River safari (the second leg of our combo tickets)

I can't quite decide if my little babe had a good experience at the river safari today... Haha.. The park was built thoughtfully like a long walkway with the exhibits on the sides... There were soooooo many different species of fish!!! hahahha its a RIVER safari afterall... hahahha but I'm not sure if babe knew the difference between the fish except that tis a big and small fish.... We just walked along the trail (all covered walkway) and little boy was really happy just snacking on his blueberries and animal biscuits!! (He's been eating loads of blueberries.. his snack-of-the-moment!! Sometimes more than 20 at one go!! He seems to enjoy this batch of blueberries v much!!)

Then there were the pandas.... Hmmm.... Wake up Kai Kai!!!!! And hey, where's jia jia???? Oh there she is, in the close circuit tv!! Hahahahha.... According to the note, she's shy. In fact, she's hiding behind this structure in the den!! Very shy!! Not much expression from our little boy too! But mama is impressed with the enclosure!!! From the set up to the seems-like-cool-natural-wind air con!! I like. The red pandas beside it were really cute too!! Very fluffy and cuddly looking...

* that's Kai Kai there...

There's this long long bridge in the middle of the park that cuts across the reservoir... Which was great for babe to run.... And run he did!!! (B-gu says lukey runs like he's doing '轻公' hahahha... And we couldn't agree more!! He was doing a 水上飘!! Hahaha) He stopped to look at the life Bouys hanging at the sides and big birds flying across the reservoir.. Very serene, very therapeutic....  Could also hear the monkeys from the adjourning zoo. Almost like we are in the middle of a big rainforest!!

Next stop - the free ranging little monkey enclosure! Boy, lukey was wild in there!! Hahahah papa had to restraint him and carry him all the time cos he was going after the monkeys!!!! Wanting to touch and pull their tails perhaps?! Hahaha... Mama stood and watched from outside.. Didn't want to risk the monkey jumping onto me!!! So I had no idea how the monkey feeding went in there...

The last stop before we headed out - the huge aquarium with manatees in there. Very much like the one at RWS, sentosa though.The Pirañas were the highlight for me... But but but..... They were so gentle and docile in the tank?!!! How could that be?????!!!! It was not like what I've been watching on national geographic - the feeding frenzy with only bones left!!!! C'mon river safari!! We need some serious feeding show here!!! Hahahah... (Doesn't it look like a promfet here?!)

We were still early when we left so we decided to hop into the zoo too!! Hello polar bear!!! Hello lions!!!!! :) We were lucky to meet the keeper for the big cats (been taking care of the cats for 17yrs!) who gave us an insight to the lion family and history at the zoo. No wonder the lion was following him and bellowing when he called out to them the last time we were here!!!

We decided to head home after the lions as it was lunch time and the weather was too cool for water play. Tomorrow maybe.... :)

Ps. I can't decide which is our best family picture... Hahahah... What do u think?? (Pls note that the photos were not cropped at all!! Haha... Just not focused!) grrr....

We will come back when the river safari fully opens later this year. By then, think lukey will enjoy it much more. :)

** not much pictures today as we used a real camera and mama too lazy to download them here hehee **
